USPS Rate Changes for 2011

The United States Postal service 2011 rate change goes into effect on January 2, 2011. This is a reminder of what changes are coming. Below is a summary of what is changing and what is not:

  • First Class Mail is not changing.
  • The First Class Stamp will continue to be $0.44.
  • Standard Mail &  Parcel Post will not change in January 2011.
  • Priority Mail retail rates have increased by an average of 3.9%.
  • Express Mail retail rates have increased by an average of 5%.
  • The USPS has introduced new legal-sized Flat Rate envelopes and padded Flat Rate envelopes for both Priority Mail and Express Mail. Pricing is the same as other Flat Rate envelopes.
  • Express Mail Commercial Plus pricing has decreased by 5%
  • The volume requirement for Express Mail Commercial Plus pricing has decreased from 6,000 annual Express shipments to 5,000 annual Express shipments.
