ShipSaver for Etsy is Now Available

ShipSaver & EtsyShipping insurance for Etsy sellers is now available using the new ShipSaver for Etsy application. U.S. based Etsy sellers that have a PayPal account can purchase discounted shipping insurance coverage for your outbound shipments.

What is it?

ShipSaver offers shipping insurance coverage for shipments sent via the USPS, FedEx, and UPS. It is a web based application that allows you to insure your shipments directly from your computer.

How does it work?

ShipSaver pulls all of your sold listings from Etsy into our easy to use application and allows you to add insurance quickly and easily through a simple interface. Your Etsy sales can get covered for loss or damage while in transit after just a few clicks of your mouse. Once you deposit funds using your PayPal account you are ready to go. The best part is that the coverage is at a huge cost savings compared to the carrier insurance rates.

How big are the cost savings?

Our rates are only $1.00 per $100 of coverage for Domestic USPS shipments, per package. USPS charges $1.75 for the first $50 of coverage and $2.25 for up to $100. Our International shipping insurance rates are only $1.25 per $100.

If you ship 50 packages valued under $100.00 each, you can save a between $35 to $62! See the savings here.

The more you ship, the more you save.
If you are shipping using FedEx or UPS, the rates are only $0.60 per $100 of coverage per package.

What are some other benefits of using ShipSaver?

Besides the tremendous cost savings, if something does happen to your shipments we process your claims in a fast and fair manner. The entire claims process can be managed via email.
Coverage is also available for USPS First Class International shipments… the USPS does not even offer coverage for First Class International shipments!

  • I’m excited about this but the last button you push when signing up
    wants you to give permission for invasive things that I am not comfortable
    with. They really need to change this or give more info as to why this is
    necessary. I plan on waiting until this happens. This is what they ask for:

    * Change listings in your shop
    * Create new listings in your shop
    * Add to and remove from your favorites
    * Read your billing and sales data
    * Manage your shipping address”

  • Jeannie – This is the default text displayed by Etsy when any 3rd party application wants to access their API. The text is a bit daunting, but it is out of our control.

  • I have several questions:
    1)Do you cover package which delivered damaged by USPS?
    2)Do you cover theft? for example, package delivered on porch and got stolen
    3)Do you cover lost package that get delivered to wrong address?

    1) Yes.
    2) No – Coverage is for when the package is in transit; not before or after shipping. However, loss during transit is covered.
    3) Yes.
