Sub $100 Claims? Say Good Bye to Paper Affidavits!
Our shipping insurance coverage has always been a great savings and fraud deterrent for our customers, but the affidavit process has always been met with mixed emotions. When a shipment is sent via the USPS, we require the recipient, or intended recipient, to sign a claim statement/affidavit indicating loss or damage. This is used to deter fraud and verify that the claim is valid.
Many of our customers believe that it may be tough to get their International customers to sign such a form, due to the language barriers. We do offer the claim statement form in multiple languages, but getting certain users to sign it could prove challenging. We are always asked if there is an online, paperless option available.
As we are constantly trying to improve our service, we have released our Online Claims Verification System. When a customer files a claim for a package valued under $100.00 our system will send out a request to have the recipient, or intended recipient, visit a website and verify the loss or damage. This can be done in less than 1 minute and streamlines the claims process even further. The verification form is short and only requests that the user indicate what happened to the package and then electronically sign the form.
We hope this makes insuring your shipments with Shipsurance even easier for our customers.
