2014 FedEx Rate Increases

FedEx has announced their 2014 rate changes. The changes will take place on January 6, 2014.

Besides their shipping charge increases, their declared value charges are raising for the 10th straight year!

Declared value fees for FedEx are increasing from $0.85 to $0.90 per $100. The minimum charge increased from $2.55 to $2.70.

This means that if you declare a $200.00 value on 100 packages, this would cost you $270.00. With Shipsurance, you could pay less than $40.00* for broader coverage. 1000 packages would save you $2300*.

Other FedEx Rate Changes for 2014:

  • Delivery Area Surcharge – The surcharge for commercial and extended commercial shipments increased from $2.15 per package to $2.25 per package.
  • The surcharge for extended residential shipments will increase from $3.50 per package to $3.65 per package.
  • FedEx Express – The charge for Indirect Signature Required increased from $2.25 per package to $3.00 per package
  • FedEx Express – The charge for Direct Signature Required increased from $3.50 per package to $3.75 per package
